EOS is endorsed by SURF

SURF, the ICT organisation for higher education in the Netherlands, has issued a statement in support of EOS. Wim Liebrand, the Director of SURF, says,"SURF welcomes the new EnablingOpenScholarship (EOS) initative that will bring leaders and decision makers of universities and research institutions together to foster the movement towards open access, open education, open science and open innovation. National and international programmes to raise awareness and implement interoperable infrastructures to open up scholarly information are gaining momentum; EOS can be the necessary change agent to redirect and define national and institutional strategies. What we all should realize is that progress in science is built on sharing insights in research findings. Our current research environment however, has too many obstacles to allow for the seamless sharing of insights."
